Story
C&C Chester are passionate about supporting the Hospice of The Good Shepherd and the palliative care and support they provide for patients who have been diagnosed with a life limiting illness, across Chester, West Cheshire and Deeside. Whether sponsoring Christmas activity or locking up our boss, (Traff was guilty as charged!), we’re always keen to help raise funds for this amazing cause.
So, when the call came for runners in the Pantomime Horse Race at Chester Racecourse, we answered! The race is the first race listed on the Race Card at the Family Day event, taking place on Sunday 4th August, and our ride is a donkey called Mule Runnings!
Don’t be fooled by the name – as donkeys go, this one is a thoroughbred! To give ourselves a fighting chance (and to avoid causing any more damage to backs, knees, hips and ankles within Team Chester), we’ve drafted in two of Alex’s athletic hockey chums, to do the heavy lifting.
The 100m race will consist of 20 horses, donkeys and unicorns and will take place in front of a full race crowd of race goers, cheering on their favourite horses.
Please support us in reaching our target - and beyond if possible – all donations will be gratefully received by us. But more importantly, by the patients and families cared for by the hospice.
