Sky dive · 5 September 2025

SARAC ( sexual abuse rape advice centre) is a well established, specialist charity based in Burton on Trent dedicated to providing support, information and education to anyone affected by Sexual Violence, Abuse and Rape. SARAC was formed in 1994 by a group of local women who were appalled at the lack of support for people dealing with the aftermath of childhood/adulthood sexual abuse and/or rape. It is a developing charity, although its aims remain the same – offering bespoke services for everyone over the age of 11, leading to a reduction in the suffering caused by the effects of sexual abuse and/or rape, and thereby leading to the prevention of secondary victimisation. SARAC’s objectives include the delivery of specialist, face-to-face emotional support, ensuring all supporters are trained to a high standard, and are managed and supported to a high standard. We also provide education and awareness sessions, training and consultancy.

Story

Terrified? Yes. Committed to supporting survivors? Even more so.

Hi everyone — I’m doing a skydive (yes, really 😳) to raise money for SARAC.

This is way out of my comfort zone (I usually prefer solid ground!), but I wanted to do something bold to reflect the bravery I see in the people we support every day.

Your donation, big or small, will help us continue offering free, confidential support to those who need it most.

If you can’t donate, a message of encouragement would mean just as much — especially when I’m up in the air wondering what on earth I’ve signed up for!

Let’s make this leap count — for me, for SARAC, and for every survivor.

Thank you so much,

Murron.
