Story
Thanks for taking the time to the visit Museum of Power JustGiving page.
We are raising funds to support the construction and fit-out of the Graham Wood Education Building at the Museum of Power, expanding the museum’s ability to deliver high-quality Key Stage 1 & 2 STEM education through a dedicated classroom (capacity 22) with modern digital teaching equipment, plus an assembly hall (capacity 150) for welcoming and organising school groups before splitting into structured learning activities throughout the museum. Funding will also help provide improved computer equipment for 2 Special educational needs young people who use the site. The new assembly hall can be made available for other community activities such as local clubs and art exhibitions. The museum is in a unique position with its historic steam pumping engine through to future energy to: -
1. Teach children in a real-world science environment.
2. Encourage interest in science and mathematics at an early age.
3. Create an interactive environment aimed at families to entertain and educate at all levels.
4. Promote and champion the past, present and future of power.
