The Weekend Day Centre is a registered charity that offers informal day care for people living with dementia and their carers within the borough of Stockport. With an estimated 4,000 people currently living with dementia in Stockport, the need for support is already significant—and it's only expected to grow. Based on current prevalence rates and projected population changes, the number of people affected is predicted to rise by 40% by 2040

Through their Charity of the Year partnership, musicMagpie will be supporting The Weekend Day Centre—with fundraising initiatives, volunteering, and strategic support. In turn, The Weekend Day Centre will be working with musicMagpie to raise awareness around Dementia care, helping to educate employees and identify anyone that could need help within the business to ensure they receive the support their loved ones may need.
