Story

Thank you so much for visiting our JustGiving page and for supporting our fundraising journey for the Human Practice Foundation - a charity dedicated to improving the lives of children and underserved communities in Kenya and Nepal through education, wellbeing and practical, lasting support.

This July, we - five students from Wycombe Abbey (Mylah, Vera, Coco, Astrid and Emily) - are taking on a significant personal and physical challenge to raise funds for this cause. Together, we will walk the Tour du Mont Blanc, one of Europe’s most iconic long‑distance alpine trails, covering around 170 kilometres over 10 days. The route crosses France, Italy and Switzerland and involves over 10,000 metres of cumulative ascent. This challenge is not only a true test of our endurance and teamwork, but a meaningful way for us to support the important work of the Human Practice Foundation.

For us, this journey is about far more than completing a trek. It is about using our energy, determination and opportunities to help children who face far greater challenges in accessing education and resources. Every step we take is driven by the Foundation’s mission to create safe, inspiring learning environments where children can thrive.

After completing the trek, two of us - Mylah and Astrid - will travel on to Kenya, where we will volunteer in rural communities. Our volunteering will focus on supporting children through sports activities, as well as helping with English and Mathematics in extracurricular learning programmes. Inspired to push ourselves even further, we also plan to take on an additional challenge - climbing Mount Kenya (5,199 metres), Africa’s second‑highest mountain - as a symbol of our ongoing commitment to the charity and the communities it supports.

All funds raised through this page will go directly to the Human Practice Foundation and will be used to support sustainable, high‑impact projects that improve educational environments and opportunities for children.
