Story
In September 2024, I did my longest hike to date, covering the 35 miles from Eastbourne to Hove in a little under 12 hours. I have to confess, it was VERY hard and I had virtually nothing left in the tank at the end. However, in the pursuit of challenging and pushing myself to improve, I have signed up to do it again, this time for the full 100km/62mile challenge. This will follow the same route as before but, instead of finishing at Hove, will continue on to Arundel. I'm not sure where I will find the extra 27 miles in my legs, but I have plenty of time to get the training in...
For this hike, I will be raising money for the suicide prevention charity, Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). Suicide remains the leading cause of death for men under the age of 50 and CALM have loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.
If you are willing and able to donate to this cause, it would be very much appreciated, however much or little you are able to spare towards CALM's life-saving work.
