Aberdeen Jail or Bail · 23 February 2024 ·

Eleven local business leaders have been found guilty of outrageous charges and locked up for Maggie's Aberdeen. With only a phone, laptop and their powers of persuasion, they now need your help to raise funds to pay their bail and escape jail.

Story

I am one of eleven local businesspeople who have been put behind bars for Maggie's. I've been found guilty of excessive Feline Fandom Felony (Guilty of covertly converting all office meetings into purr-fectly orchestrated cat appreciation sessions, leaving colleagues feline perplexed and doggedly amused), and sent down with bail set at £1,000.

With only my phone, laptop and my powers of persuasion, I need your help to raise funds to pay bail and escape jail.

Participating in the Jail or Bail fundraising event for Maggie's charity is not just about raising funds but also shining a light on this impactful local cause. Maggie's plays a crucial role in the lives of those dealing with cancer, and their commitment to providing unparalleled support is the epitome of compassion and community.

For many people living in the Northeast, Maggie's Aberdeen is a beacon of hope, offering a unique programme of practical and psychological support, available free of charge to people at any stage and with any type of cancer, and to their family and friends.

In the past decade Maggie’s Aberdeen have received over 80,000 visits, provided tens of thousands of hours of 1-2-1 psychological and specialist cancer support and raised £9,000,000 in financial gains for local people. They rely entirely on voluntary donations and gifts in wills to fund their work, and with instances of cancer 1 in 2 people, there is huge demand for the support they provide. Please bail me out and help Maggie’s – every £ will help.
