Story
The Abbey Centre runs a monthly Carers’ Support Group that provides vital respite, connection and wellbeing support for unpaid carers in our community. The group offers a welcoming space where carers can take time out for themselves, build supportive friendships, and access practical advice to help manage the emotional and physical demands of caring.
Sessions include creative activities, relaxation and massage opportunities, group trips, and informative discussions on caring responsibilities and mental wellbeing. The programme plays a crucial role in reducing isolation, strengthening peer networks, and improving carers’ overall resilience and wellbeing.
Our support helps ensure this important group can continue to run and give carers regular respite, reminding them they are valued and supported.
