The four of us love to go on a hike and like to set ourselves a challenge. Over the years we have completed a number of charity walks in the Channel Islands and between us are proud holders of 17 Island Walk medals (despite saying we would never do it again!).

As we approach our 50th birthdays, we have talked about new walking/hiking challenges that we would like to complete as we walk out of our forties and into out fifties. Between us we have come up with an impressive list of challenges and have agreed to start with the National Three Peaks (Jamie has named it N3P). We had considered the 24-hour challenge but decided to go with the three-day challenge to give us the opportunity to also take in surroundings of each mountain (and enjoy a cheeky beer or two at the end of each descent)

Our challenge begins on 20 September, Day 1 in Scotland where we will climb Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK. Day 2 we will hike up England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike and, on our final day, we will transfer to Pen y Pass for the ascent of Snowdon, Wales’s highest mountain.

Whilst taking on the N3P challenge, we would also like to use the opportunity to raise funds for the local charity, Family First (Registered Charity 383) founded by the Grace Crocker Family Support Foundation which was set up in 2011 to help local families who had to leave the island with sick children to receive medical treatment.

The Foundation collaborated with the Jersey Community Partnership and along with a cluster group of 18 charities, that also support sick children in Jersey.

Family First provide a service who are there to support families through the hardest times of their lives when their child is sick. The charity is currently supporting over 60 families who are travelling to a UK hospital with their child for treatment. The charity provides these families with a Family Liaison, to provide practical, emotional, and financial support so they can concentrate on their child's treatment and recovery. For more information please see their website: familyfirst.org.je.

£150 allows the charity to support family for one day and £30 pays for Family First phone for a month. For the charity to continue to provide the high-level support to these families, develop and grow their service and reach out to even more families they need our help. To mark their 5 Year anniversary, the charity has a target to raise £15,000.00 and have raised £6,400 to date.

Gillian, Emmaline, Jamie, and I would really appreciate your support in helping us help Family First.

Thank you for your time and support.

Carmen, Gillian, Emmaline, and Jamie 😊
