I am running the Great North Run 2026 in support of WeCan, a charity that enables children with additional needs to access local leisure and social activities in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.

This cause is personal to me as my little sister, Hannah-Jo, attends WeCan and I have seen firsthand the life-changing impact it has had on her. Over the years, she has faced enormous challenges, including going blind and undergoing numerous brain surgeries in attempts to reduce a mass pressure buildup in her brain. Throughout it all, WeCan has gone above and beyond to support her — adapting activities to meet her changing needs, encouraging her independence, and helping her build confidence and friendships.

Because of their care and dedication, Hannah-Jo has come on in leaps and bounds. WeCan has not only supported her development but has given her joy, purpose, and a sense of belonging. I have also worked at Wecan in the past and have had a chance to see some of the opportunities they bring to each child.

By taking on this challenge, I hope to give something back and help ensure that WeCan can continue providing this vital support Hannah-jo and to other children and families who need it. Any donation, no matter the size, and any shares will help make a difference.
