Story
Over 1.4 million people are in danger of starvation as Namibia suffers its worst drought in a century. To feed the most desperate, the government is having to slaughter up to 300 zebras, 83 elephants, 30 hippos and hundreds of other rare animals – the country’s crown jewels. But it will not be enough.
For over a decade, the Namibia Project has provided the orphans and vulnerable children at ||Khuta!hoas Primary School in Northern Namibia with food aid. The school is now down to its last 80kg of maize meal to feed students breakfast – for many, their only meal of the day. Without immediate resupply, these children's well-being will be at grave risk.
What is at stake?
The Namibia Project is launching an emergency appeal to make sure that ||Khuta!hoas can continue to provide 1065 simple meals a week.
- Just £5 would feed one learner for a week, allowing them to have the energy to grow and focus on their studies
What’s new?
Today, the project is entirely independent and has a new board of trustees, with a fresh perspective and bold vision. Check out our website for more info: https://www.namibiaproject.org.uk/
With your help, we can raise the money required to give each student subsistence-level food for the remaining weeks of the school year.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
