As many of you may know, I have spent the last 9 months receiving chemotherapy treatment for bone cancer (osteosarcoma) at Bristol Children's Hospital. While I have managed to have a few days at home, I have also spent months on Starlight Ward, where the treatment has often made me very unwell. The doctors, nurses, and all the other staff here do an amazing job and have supported me immensely over this past year. I want to give something back to them.

The hospital relies heavily on charity funding to help run the wards and create the best possible environment for young people undergoing cancer treatment. I am raising money for "Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal" to help create another space for older children and teens to hang out on the ward. Currently, there is only one playroom that is largely designed for babies and toddlers. After spending so much time in my hospital room, I craved a different space where I could sit and chat with friends, play games, and relax away from my hospital bed.

This initiative would be my gift back to the incredible team on Starlight Ward who have become like family over this past year. It would also be a gift to other patients coming into treatment—providing them with a lovely space to hang out in during their stay.

I still have four more doses of chemotherapy left, but once I am better, I plan to organize some fundraising activities that I will share on this page. Many of you may have already generously donated through family efforts; even a small contribution towards my target of £1,000 would mean so much as we work together to make this vision a reality.
