Story
The children of Nant-y-Cwm Steiner school would love your support in developing their school garden so they can grow an abundance of nourishing food for themselves and the local community.
The children currently grow and garden in a small shady woodland area, one of the only flat spaces available on our very sloped school grounds. We have been granted planning permission to level a bright and sunny area to place a polytunnel, where the children can learn to grow all year round, providing food for themselves throughout the school year, and offering the surplus to the local community throughout the school holidays. The plan also involves creating several new raised bed areas, a herb garden, rainwater harvesting system and wildlife and habitat area.
We have been gifted half of the funds needed for the initial landscaping work by the school fundraising team, but need to raise the other half ourselves. We would be over the moon if you would consider supporting us in this project!
We've set the target amount to help us complete the initial landscaping work. If we can significantly beat this target then we can also purchase the polytunnel itself, saving our grant applications for the other much needed projects around the school. And any surplus donations will enable us to also purchase materials for construction for the raised beds, rainwater system and habitat area.
With thanks
