It is our mission to raise awareness of Addison's Disease and improve the lives of, educate and support people diagnosed with Addison's Disease and their families. Approximately 9,000 people in the UK have Addison's, with over 300 new cases diagnosed each year, yet very few have heard of it.

Story

Lee had a very rare condition called Addison's Disease as well

as Type 1 Diabetes. Addison's Disease is caused by a problem

with the immune system and is where the adrenal glands, that

sit on top of the kidneys, do not produce enough (or any)

hormones, namely, Cortisol (stress hormone) and aldosterone.

Lee had been unwell with a bug for a few days and went into

Adrenal Crisis. He collapsed at home after suffering respiratory

arrest followed by 3 cardiac arrests upon his arrival at Hospital, which ultimately led to unsurvivable brain damage.

He passed away on 2nd February 2024, 9 days before his 25th birthday.

Lee leaves his Mum, Debbie, Dad, Mark, brothers, Chris and Kane,

his fiancé, Sally and his beautiful 1 year old son, Louis, who he

absolutely doted on.

Because this condition is extremely rare, not many people have heard of it and this needs to change. We don't want anyone else to go through what's happened to us over the last few months.

We are therefore planning to raise awareness of Addison's

Disease in any way we can.
