💛 Supporting my lil sis (Anna) - Living With Terminal Cancer 💛
“I don’t want to be strong. I don’t want to have to make these kinds of life and death decisions.” Anna
Five years ago, my little sister Anna was given a terminal melanoma diagnosis, one of the deadliest forms of skin cancer. Since then, she’s been living a life she didn’t ask for filled with scans every 3 months, harsh medication side effects, and impossible choices.
Anna's not “fighting cancer” she’s living with it. Learning to walk alongside it, not because she wants to, but because she has no choice.
Despite everything, Anna still shows up for herself, her friends, her Pickering Cancer Centre community and others going through similar battles. Somehow, she still finds light in the darkness.
“I made friends with my cancer. I called her ‘Noma’. Because if she’s a part of me, she must be beautiful too.” - Anna
Anna doesn’t want pity, she just wants to keep living as fully and comfortably as she can, with dignity, love, and peace.
In September I’ll be walking Snowdon with Moose (the baaaaabbbbby) my black labrador to raise money for the The Pickering Cancer Drop In Centre, a place that has been a lifeline to Anna and so many others in their cancer journeys. Your donations will directly support the incredible work they do, providing vital care, support, and compassion to people like Anna who are facing the toughest battles of their lives.
If Anna’s story has touched you, inspired you, or reminded you to check your skin, thank you. And thank you even more if you feel moved to donate or share this page.
With all our hearts
Naomi, Moose & my lil sis Anna!
