Story
In May, my friends and I are taking on the Spartan Race to raise money for Carers in Hertfordshire, an organisation that supports unpaid carers across the county.
This cause is particularly close to my heart, as I sadly lost my grandma just a couple of months ago. She suffered from two strokes and, shortly afterwards, a brain haemorrhage back in 2012. From then on, she required round the clock care at home for fourteen years. She was also non verbal and completely dependent on those around her for everything.
I always had so much respect for carers, but I don’t think I ever fully understood the strength, patience and dedication it takes until I saw it first hand with my own grandmother.
By taking on this challenge, we hope to raise awareness and support the incredible work Carers in Hertfordshire does for people who dedicate so much of their lives to caring for others. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to us and help make a real difference. 🤍
