3 Peaks Challenge for Porridge and Pens
Friends, family, and my loving community, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My dear friend 'Pocket' is joining the team to be part of this challenge and will support Porridge and Pens together:
On the 15th of July, we are undertaking the three peaks challenge across the UK (Scotland, England, and Wales) in 24 hrs and in support of this amazing charity in Ghana: https://porridgeandpens.org/contact-us/
Porridge and Pens Ghana work to support the poorest children, young adults and families in Ghana, by offering free education, safe shelter, feeding programmes and young adult empowerment, setting hundreds of Ghanian's on a path to sustainable bright futures, reach their full potential and break the cycles of poverty.
From Porridge & Pens:
80% of the children across their partner schools couldn't afford to eat during the school day without their feeding programmes. Without an opportunity to eat a school meal, children struggle to concentrate or learn. They are far more likely to be drawn into childhood labour activities and finish schooling early. Only 11% of young people in Kumasi reach their higher education and hunger is a significant barrier, preventing children from staying in school for as long as they could...Two meals a day keeps a child in school for longer, incentivises parents to send their children to school rather than out to work early. Children who are fed at school attend regularly, are happier and able to concentrate on their learning. This means they can earn a fair and stable wage in their future.
Through this challenge, we are encouraging donations, every single penny and pound will make a huge difference, so no donation is too small.
We thank you very much for your support, and if you want more information about the charity we will be more than happy to talk you through it.
Education has the power to break the back of poverty.
Thanks for your help,
Nas & Pocket
