Why I Am Raising Funds

I travelled to The Gambia searching for a project that could be built in the name of my son, Dhanyal Karim — something meaningful, lasting, and rooted in dignity.

What I found changed me.

I met families who are warm, generous, and resilient — yet living in conditions that no one should have to accept as normal. Children with the brightest smiles live alongside extreme hardship. Homes are built from mud and straw. Beds are broken frames or bare wooden planks. Livestock roam without secure land or infrastructure. This is not temporary hardship — it is daily survival without opportunities.

These communities do not want charity.

They want a way to earn a living.

What I Saw on the Ground

Behind these bright smiles are families living with constant uncertainty — children who deserve safety, stability and a chance to thrive.

Homes are made of mud and straw, and beds are broken frames or bare planks. This is not a temporary struggle — it’s everyday life without stable income.

Animals wander freely because there is no fenced land or infrastructure. With proper planning and support, livestock can become a source of sustainable income instead of vulnerability.

The Solution: A Community Animal Farm

After listening to villagers, one solution stood out — a community animal farm.

This farm will give families:

• food security

• reliable income

• dignity through work

• independence from permanent handouts

The land has already been secured. What is urgently needed now is funding to:

• 🚧 Fence and protect the land

• 🚜 Prepare the ground for farming

• 🐄 Purchase livestock to begin income generation

This farm will belong to the entire community — not one person — so everyone can benefit, work, and grow together.

One farm can change one village.

But to truly impact lives across the region, hundreds of farms are needed.

Without income, families remain trapped in uncertainty. With sustainable farming, they gain control over their futures.
