Story

In April 2027, I’ll be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Bliss, the UK’s leading charity for babies born premature or sick.

Just over a year ago, I never imagined I’d be signing up for a half marathon. When I first started running, even a few minutes felt like a huge challenge. Since then, running has completely changed my life, helping me become stronger, healthier and more confident than I ever thought possible.

As a neonatal nurse, I’ve seen first-hand how difficult and emotional it can be when a baby is born too soon or becomes seriously unwell. Families can find themselves facing days, weeks or even months in neonatal care, navigating challenges they never expected to face.

That’s why I’ve chosen to support Bliss.

Around 90,000 babies every year in the UK require neonatal care. Bliss provides vital support, information and guidance to families during some of the most difficult times of their lives, while also campaigning for improvements in neonatal care and funding research to help improve outcomes for babies born premature or sick.

I’ll be taking on this challenge alongside my friend and colleague Amy, while many of my training miles will be shared with my Springador, Peggy, who has been by my side throughout my running journey.

There will be early alarms, long training runs and tired legs, but knowing that every mile helps support babies and families through some of the toughest times of their lives will keep me going.

My fundraising target is £400, and every donation will help Bliss continue supporting babies and their families when they need it most.

Whether you choose to donate, share this page or simply cheer me on from afar, thank you. Your support means so much and will help Bliss continue supporting babies and families when they need it most.

From Amy, Peggy and me. – thank you for your support. ❤️🐾
