Swimming 5 km down the River Adur · 11 July 2026

Story

I've always loved the water and I've been lucky enough to spend much of my life in the sea, either for fun or for work.

This year I have also seen firsthand how quickly things can change and lives can be lost to drowning. I've chosen to fundraise for the Royal Life Saving Society as they are working to reduce drownings through educating people on water safety and providing lifeguard training. And in 2025 one of their major campaigns resulted in water safety being added to the national curriculum, ensuring that children are taught from a young age how to enjoy the water at the same time as staying safe.

Water is a huge part of my life and so signing up for a long swim seemed like the perfect activity for me. With my lovely friends Tess and Jems, I'll be swimming 5 km down the River Adur (with the outgoing tide I am pleased to say) on the 11th July.

Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot xx
