Dementia is an illness close to my heart, as my Dad was diagnosed with dementia in 2021.

When I was 21 my dad and I got Nico (teacup Yorkie), followed by Gino (was meant to be a teacup Yorkie but kept growing) a year or so later. My Dad loved the doggies and enjoyed going for walks with me and the dogs around Ballochmyle and down Ayr beach. Before he went into the care home we would walk along the low green or the promenade and anytime I walk there now I imagine him with me. Since he can't join us on the walks anymore due to poor mobility, Nico, Gino & I will walk 100K in October to raise money for Dementia UK and go some of our favourite routes we used to do together!

From August 2024, Search Recruitment Group are supporting Dementia UK.
