Snowdon By Night Trek · 16 August 2025

We are a Colchester based charity which provides specialist palliative and end of life care to local people facing incurable illness in north east Essex, supporting them, their families, friends and carers.

Story

Two years ago, I lost my wonderful husband to a brain tumour. Just eight weeks after his diagnosis, he passed away at the age of 51. In those final days, we were blessed to be in the care of St Helena’s. They didn’t just look after him — they cared for all of us, with compassion, dignity, and kindness.

From the reception team to the doctors, every person there showed us incredible warmth. They even made it possible for me to stay with him each night in their special ‘Cuddle Bed’. Nothing was too much to ask.

Now, I want to give something back — in honour of my husband, and to thank the amazing team at St Helena’s. They are truly angels, and I will always be grateful for the love they showed us when we needed it most.
