Edinburgh Kiltwalk 2024 · 15 September 2024 ·

We use football to promote positive change: health messages, education, community development, gender equality. We give young people – boys and girls – the chance to play football in a structured way, as part of a team. And as part of that team, we help them to learn new things and give something back to their community through outreach programmes.

Story

My lovely friend Louise is involved with this great charity and her infectious enthusiasm has swept me up. I have been persuaded to join her for the Kilt Walk and I am striding out for 20 miles. It has been 11 years since I walked the Cateran Yomp, a bigger challenge, but this walk is on the pavements of Edinburgh and I have done no training other than a munro or two this summer!

Please take a minute or two to visit the Africa on the Ball website to see how they support communities through football.
