Story
I am taking on this challenge and going from not running at all to marathon for Glaucoma as it has touched my life in profound ways. Several members of my family have been diagnosed with this condition, and I'm acutely aware of its hereditary nature. This means that not only are my loved ones affected, but others in my family may also be at risk. Family friends, including someone as young as 38, are also living with glaucoma.
Over 700,000 people in the UK have glaucoma, with half of them unaware they have it. I'm passionate about spreading awareness about the importance of early eye checks, as timely detection can make a significant difference in preventing sight loss. Imagine what it would mean to you to gradually lose your sight, not see your family or be able to drive. Glaucoma UK campaign to raise awareness so glaucoma is detected early and can be treated, they support people to live well with glaucoma and we fund sight-saving research. Glaucoma UK is reliant on donations, so your support makes a real difference. By supporting Glaucoma UK, I'm hoping to contribute to a future where preventable glaucoma sight loss is a thing of the past.
Your support will help fund life-changing research, support those living with the condition, and raise awareness about the importance of early detection. Let's work together to protect vision and improve lives.
