Story

ElizaLand - In Memory of Our Beautiful Eliza

Our darling daughter, Eliza, passed away in our arms at just 7years

old from a Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer.

But that is not Eliza’s story, my daughter was bright, funny, brave, and full of magic — the kind of little girl who lit up every room she entered. Her angelic face warmed everyone’s hearts the moment they saw her smile.

But cancer doesn’t care how special or loved you are and it left us with the unimaginable — planning our baby girl’s funeral and throwing her one last party, before it was time for our princess to gain her angel wings.

Eliza loved all things Disney and because she was too poorly to fly to DisneyLand we decided to bring Disney to her so we planned a party and named it ElizaLand.

At the time Eliza had lost all of her hair and was sharing a hospital ward with her best friend, Tallulah. Tallulah had received a wig and turban with hair attached from Little Lady Locks, and Eliza loved them. She would borrow them and wear them on the ward.

When we were faced with saying goodbye, it was Tallulah who made a very special request. She asked Little Lady Locks if they could create one just for Eliza to wear at her party — something that captured everything she loved. And because Stitch was her favourite, they made her an extra special Stitch-themed hair turban. Eliza wore it on the day of her party and loved it so much. Our poorly princess looked like herself again.

Ashley, the founder of Little Lady Locks, was so deeply moved by what our family had endured that she wanted to do something lasting. Something that could bring comfort to others in the darkest moments of their lives.

She made a promise — to create a magical party room at the Little Lady Locks new premises. A space that can be gifted completely free of charge to families facing end-of-life or bereavement for their children. A warm, enchanting place to celebrate a child’s life with dignity, compassion, and love.

When it’s not being used for those most heartbreaking days, the room will be hired out to the public for children’s parties — becoming the charity’s biggest source of weekly donations, helping fund wigs and support services for other children experiencing hair loss all over the U.K..

The room could be done simply, but that’s not what Eliza would have wanted. My little girl would have dreamed of something magical — a space full of Disney magic that’s accessible for every child, every disability, and state-of-the-art sensory equipment.

And so, in her name with help from you all, we want to build ElizaLand.

Please, help us make this dream a reality. For Eliza. For the families yet to face what we’ve been through. For the children who deserve magic even in the hardest of times.

I know my angel is looking down and would be so proud of what we are building in her memory.

With all our love,

Eliza’s Mum & Dad
