Story
I’m honoured to be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2026 to raise funds for the East of England Ambulance Service Charity #TeamEEAST💚
A few years ago, my lovely family was devastated by the heartbreaking loss of our 13 year old son, Alexander. I suffered some difficult health challenges and, recently, a sudden serious illness.
An amazing Community First Responder (CFR) was first on scene when I suddenly fell ill and supported and cared for me until paramedics arrived and I was admitted to hospital for life saving surgery.
These experiences changed me deeply. They tested my strength but also showed me the incredible power of kindness, compassion and hope.
They also inspired me to turn my sadness into purpose and give back in a meaningful way — and that’s why I became a Community First Responder with the East of England Ambulance Service. As a CFR, I now have the privilege of helping others in moments of crisis, offering the same care and compassion that once helped me when I needed it most.
I’m taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon as a celebration of recovery, resilience and strength. I’m running to honour my son’s memory and to support the incredible EEAST Charity which provides training for Community First Responders, funds lifesaving equipment (such as defibrillators), looks after the wellbeing of frontline teams and volunteers and strengthens our community with initiatives such as EEAST Heart basic life support training.
✨ Your support means the world. Every donation and every bit of encouragement will help make a real difference supporting those who dedicate their lives to helping others.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support. Especially my husband Ian, who always stands by my side and will be running beside me on the day.
