November 2021 our beautiful twin boys Arthur & Finnlay were born 8 weeks early.. 3 days later, Arthur had become incredibly poorly but the doctors at Pinderfields werent sure what was wrong but knew his best chance was to be transferred to LGI. Upon arriving at LGI It was only minutes before discovering the problem was a coarctation of the aorta..

4 months later after a long stint in neonatal and a short trip home he was back in LGI for his 8 hour surgery and an extended stay on the ward.. The most stressful and awful situation was made so much easier by Childrens Heart Surgery fund, with small touches that meant everything to us such as self care bags, to the machines that save these babies lives everyday to the teddy bear medal and certificate that gets sent home with you to remind your little one how amazing they are every day!

This charity has done wonderful things for all families that come onto ward L51 and we will always be their cheerleaders :)
