Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our Team Jake JustGiving page.
Our son, brother, & friend, Jacob Scanlon was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour. It is a benign acoustic neuroma. Acoustic Neuroma (AN) are life changing. He is having a 12 hour neuro surgical operation in September. This will leave him with single sided permanent deafness. People with AN often suffer with facial palsy, balance issues, dizziness, tinnitus & fatigue.
The British Acoustic Neuroma Association (BANA), helps support people living with AN & their significant others by providing advice, guidance & support groups, which can be a lifeline for many dealing with this rare brain tumour.
Claire FS (mum), Chloe Shaw (sister) Jon Shaw (bother in law), Alex Stell (best mate) Natalie Michael & Jamie Dann (close friends) are running the Bournemouth half marathon helping to raise money for BANA, to enable them to continue the vital work they do. Claire, will also be swimming a half marathon in 5 days as injuries during training are hampering the running! If you can spare a few £'s to show your support & keep us going we would be very appreciative.
