Story
I am running Manchester Marathon on the 27th April to raise money for the Wirral Hospice St John's.
The training has taken some tolls on my body most certainly but it will all be worth it on the day and of course I wanted to take this amazing opportunity to raise money for a charity.
Never in a million years did I think I would be capable of running a marathon, but after a year of running and some great support from my family, friends ( one in particular who has dragged me everywhere… you know who you are!! ) and my gym, I am very hopeful I can do it.
This charity relies on donations and fundraising activities to help to keep caring for patients and their loved ones at a time of most need, from cancer patients to end of life care for terminal illnesses. Hospices like these are so important to keep patients as comfortable as possible in those finals weeks and days, with the best care and support for the families also. My beautiful Nana had her last days fighting with pancreatic cancer in a lovely hospice that cared for her and our family so well. The staff and surroundings made her feel so settled and as painful as it was for us all to watch her go, it was comforting knowing she was being so cared for. When I saw I could do this for a great charity, like the one that cared for my Nana there was no doubt I was going to do that. Thank you all for your kind support.
