Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For years I've thought about running the Great North Run but It was always just a thought. Not this year, I chose to run it for fun a little challenge to my self! Then not getting a place in the ballot I decided to go through a Charity. A Chairty close to me. The first Charity that I signed up to when my 16 month old Daughter got diagnosed with Coeliac disease, following my 6 year old getting a diagnosis a few months later. 2 out of 4 of my little girls have this awful disease. Although its not fixed through medication but simply by following a Gluten free diet for the rest of their lifes. Its tough! The feeling of being left out, the little to no choices thats available at Friends birthday party's, friends birthdays at school when they bring a cake in for the whole class but you can't have any, the cafes at the park when they're hungry, the restaurants who can't guarantee cross contamination & the checking of all labels even the ones that used to be safe. Though they're only young, the parts they don't have to think about but us as parents do. The never ending washing the dishes, making sure the cutlery is clean and there is no double dipping, the constant snack bag when going out for the day just incase, Pre planning where to go and scanning all the menus double & triple checking how safe it really is. The list is endless.
They've adapted to it amazingly!
Im beyond proud of them, one day thinking they're aloud it all to the next being restricted because its making them so unwell.
They're so well educated for being so small and me becoming a member of Coeliac UK & all the helpful Social media pages massively helped me transfer my knowledge to them. We're forever learning & finding new food items & recipes. From the bread thats rock solid & doesn't go down too smoothly to those moreish tasty treats.
If you could donate a small amount to help me raise funds for Coeliac UK to help us raise awareness & fund all the endless amount if research that the fabulous team continue to do, I'd greatly appreciate it. Ill do my very best for my Girls. Love Natalie x
