I'm raising money and shaving my head for a cause that's deeply personal to me — my 7-year-old daughter, Mya, who has alopecia.

Alopecia is an autoimmune condition that causes hair loss, and for a child, especially at such a young age, it can be incredibly difficult. Mya has shown incredible strength and courage as she navigates life without hair — a difference that can sometimes invite stares, questions, and unkindness. But she faces it all with grace and resilience.

Shaving my head is my way of standing beside her — not just as her parent, but as her biggest supporter. I want her to know that she’s not alone, that beauty isn’t defined by hair, and that being different is something to be proud of. It's a visual and emotional statement of solidarity, love, and pride.

But I also want to go a step further and turn this moment into something bigger. By raising money, I'm hoping to support organizations and children that are affected by it. These funds can help provide wigs to kids like Mya — and help foster a more understanding and inclusive world.

This is for Mya, and for every child learning to love themselves just as they are.
