Story

I am running Cardiff half marathon in memory of my grandad, Freddie Watkins, who was cared for and looked after by St Michael’s Hospice in his palliative stages of his life.

Not only did they offer exceptional care for Grandad they also took care of my entire family and supported us through the hardest time.

I would like to give back to St Michael’s to say thank you for everything they did for us and also for them to continue the high level of support and care to others who need it.

Freddie was one of kind, a generous, funny, strong minded man who liked what he liked. He adored all his grandchildren and great grandchildren and we all absolutely adore him. If you knew him, you were lucky. He battled his end of life with an awful brain tumour and he was so brave to the very end. He was taken far too early.

I will update all my runs and training on here weekly and also will be holding cake sales and car boot sales.

Thank you for your donation in advance.
