In loving memory of Steve Blakeway.

Linda, Steven, Tash, Nat, Paul and families are taking part in the East Cheshire Hospice Starlight Walk 2026 in memory of Steve - a devoted husband, step-dad, grandad, brother and an incredible pillar of strength to our whole family.

Steve faced his illness with courage, dignity and so much love for those around him. To his grandchildren he was the very best Ganny – kind, patient, full of warmth and always there when they needed him. He leaves behind a huge hole in our hearts, but also so many beautiful memories that we will treasure forever.

During the most difficult time of our lives, East Cheshire Hospice provided outstanding care, compassion and support – not just for Steve, but for all of us as a family. The kindness, dignity and reassurance shown by the hospice team made an unbearable situation a little more bearable. They created a calm, caring environment where Steve was comfortable and where we felt supported, listened to and never alone.

By taking part in the Starlight Walk, we want to honour Steve’s memory and give something back to this incredible hospice so they can continue supporting other families when they need it most. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and will help East Cheshire Hospice continue their amazing work.
