adidas Manchester Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

We are a charity for children with complex neurodevelopmental conditions and their families. We provide practical information for parents, contribute to research and encourage a more joined up approach unique to each person. We create creative resources such as neurodiverse children’s picture books.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the Manchester Marathon in April to raise money for Neurotastic, a charity for children with neurodevelopmental conditions and their families.

This matter is close to my heart, having neurodivergent children. We have spent years navigating SEND provisions, attending endless appointments, advocating for their needs, educating ourselves through courses, qualifications and books, and filling out more forms than you can imagine.

We know the challenges that come with neurodivergence (as well as the great rewards), and the stress this has among the kids involved and their family.

And we are by no means alone:

- Dyslexia affects 1 in 10 people

- Speech and language delays impacts 1 in 6 children

- 1 in 100 people are autistic

- 1 in 3 kids have anxiety

- 1 in 20 are dyspraxic

- 1 in 6 have sensory processing difficulties

- 1 in 20 children have ADHD

- 1 in 100 children have learning disabilities

Yet, there is little support available, and diagnoses take years and years of reports, assessments, form-filling, and battling for your child's needs to be met. During which parents typically face judgement and a hell of a lot of gas lighting, not to mention loss of earnings due to having to take time off for appointments and issues of school refusal.

Neurotastic aims to help neurodivergent children and their families by raising awareness, providing practical information, and contributing to research and education.

So, I'm aiming to run a crazy 26.2 miles on 27th April to raise money for this cause, and I'd be really grateful if you could help by donating whatever you can spare. It can really make a difference to neurodivergent children and their families at any stage of their diagnostic journey and beyond.

Thanks,

Natasha
