Walking the South West Coast Path, 630 miles from Minehead to Poole · 17 May 2025

Brake is a national road safety charity that cares for road victims and campaigns for safer roads for all. Brake's National Road Victim Service is a specialist support service to help families cope with the shock, turmoil and devastation that road crashes cause families across the UK every day.

Story

On the 1st of November 2024 we lost our amazing and beautiful son, brother, uncle, boyfriend, nephew, cousin, grandson and friend, Fergus. He was nineteen years old with a bright life ahead of him, this was taken away so suddenly by the reckless and selfish actions of another driver.

I’m going to walk the 630 mile South West Coast Path, starting from Minehead on May 17th 2025, aiming to arrive in Poole around the 15th June 2025. Along the route, they’ll be loads of memories I’ll be revisiting and cherishing. Walking alongside the ocean, a place Fergus loved, will feel he is by my side.

I am raising funds to support BRAKE, the charity that campaigns for road safety and supports people bereaved and injured by road crashes. I do not know where I would have been without their support.

Too many lives are needlessly lost on UK roads, through reckless driving, speed, drugs, alcohol and inexperience.

Please support this cause generously to help raise further awareness and save lives
