Natasha's fundraiser for Ginger Cat House

Natasha Webb is raising money for Ginger Cat House
“Fred's Fund”
We rescue, rehome and offer sanctuary to cats and kittens in the SW London and Surrey areas. We provide appropriate care, treatment and protection to cats in need of our help by reason of maltreatment, sickness, abandonment and poor circumstances. We aim to rehome such cats/ kittens where possible.

Story

UPDATE:

Apologies that JG does not allow me to say thank you to everyone personally. So to everyone who donated anything from £1 to £500 thank you so so much.

We have reached the target for the CT scan, which Fred will be having on Thursday, but please keep giving because any additional money will go towards his operation and ongoing medication.

FRED'S FUND

When Fred the 15-year-old grey/white cat arrived at my door his breathing was so bad I rushed him straight to the vet where they diagnosed bronchial pneumonia, pancreatitis and either a polyp or growth in his nose/face. They also found that his claws had not been cut for so long that they had grown round on themselves into the pads and the skin had grown over them.

Fred is a gorgeous, gentle soul and he does not deserve to have suffered for so long without medical intervention, luckily the Ginger Cat House (GCH) ethos is to give every cat the best chance possible so we have promised we will not give up on him.

The vets were concerned about Fred going back to his elderly owner on welfare grounds, so he will be staying with me as a long-term foster, under the care of GCH.

Fred needed a light sedation to clip the claws and remained in emergency hospitalisation until the new year. This clocked up a bill of over £2000 which GCH have paid.

What Fred desperately needs now is a CT scan to see what is causing his breathing issues and to stop the nose bleeds that he has been having. But the scan costs £1500 and the charity just do not have that at the moment.

The scan might mean Fred needs an operation to remove whatever is blocking his breathing, or it might tell us he is suffering and needs to be let go, but without the scan we can do nothing more to help.

It is my birthday on Friday 23rd January and instead of cards, presents or drinks I am asking everyone if they can please donate towards Fred’s scan instead. Even just the cost of a card, from enough people, would help raise the money we need.

Thank you for your support and do not feel you have to give more than you can afford, literally every penny counts and is greatly appreciated. If we raise more that £1500 the extra will be put towards Fred’s operation and ongoing care.
