Miles Across The Spectrum: A Walk in aid of The National Autistic Society

Nathan Ashurst is raising money for National Autistic Society

An 18.3 Mile Walk across Rochdale to help raise awareness for the National Autistic Society · 18 April 2026

The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Hello and thank you for taking you time into reading this cause. My name is Nathan and I am 20 years old. I am proudly Autistic. I am hoping to raise funds for the National Autistic Society, a charity that means so much to myself and people close to me, as well as thousands across the UK. I know many people on the spectrum, from my brother to some of my best friends, to some of my colleagues in the past and present. The aim of the walk is to help raise awareness of the Charity, and celebrating that Autism is a superpower, not a limitation.

The walk is being done by myself and my good friend Rhianna, who is also proudly Autistic. We are both SEND Ambassadors at Rochdale Council and get to be advocates for all children and young people with SEND Across the Borough, making sure every voice is heard and acknowledged.

We are taking on an 18 mile walk across Rochdale, starting in Norden and going to Naden Valley, Healey Dell, Brownhouse Wham Reservoir, Watergrove Reservoir and Hollingworth Lake, before finishing at Rochdale Football Club

We are hoping to raise £150 in aid of The National Autistic Society and all donations go directly to them! Thank you for your support. Lets raise some money for an awesome charity!
