Nathan Charlton is raising money for BCFC Burns Unit Appeal

Ultra Marathon · 3 May 2025

Bradford City FC Community Foundation is BCFC's dedicated charity. 2010 saw the 25th anniversary of the Bradford Fire (11.05.85). This Appeal raises funds for the Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit, which facilitated the rehabilitation of the victims of the fire, and continues vital research.

Story

On the 3rd of May 2025, on the 40th anniversary of the Bradford City Fire tragedy, we will be taking the challenge of running 56km around the surrounding areas of Bradford to commemorate the 56 lives lost. In completing this challenge we hope in the process to raise funds for the BCFC Burns Unit Appeal, a cause close to our families heart.

The route itself starts at Carlton Boling School, Undercliffe and form there travels to Thornbury - Bierly - Oakenshaw - Shelf - Queensbury - Denholme - Cullingworth - Harden - Bingley - Saltaire - Appley Bridge - Greengates - City Park and finally Valley Parade. This 56km route takes in over 700 meters of elevation and will prove to be a true challenge.

At 6am on Saturday the 3rd of May, the challenge will begin, my aim is to complete the challenge before midday to allow for a finish at VP, a rush home to shower and a return for the final game of the season.

Please support me through this challenge by making a donation and lets mark this year, the 40th anniversary, with a sizeable donation to a worthy cause.

Thank you,

Nathan and Alex
