Story
I am walking the South West Coast 50 Ultra Challenge to raise money and awareness for Dementia UK which is a charity close to my heart.
Raising money for Dementia UK is so important because it sustains a lifeline for families navigating one of life’s most heartbreaking journeys. A journey which my family is currently going through. My mother has recently been diagnosed with Dementia and she is declining rapidly. With a personal understanding of how Dementia affects not just the patient, but those around them also, I hope to raise both awareness and funds to help their research and improve the treatments available.
Every penny raised directly funds Admiral Nurses who are specialist dementia nurses that provide free, compassionate, and expert support to families when they feel most overwhelmed and alone.
By supporting my fundraiser for the charity, you aren't just funding medical research for the future; you are providing immediate, life-changing emotional and practical guidance to caregivers and individuals facing the relentless, daily reality of dementia right now.
The South West Coast 50 Ultra Challenge is also taking place along the moors of my second home in Somerset. A place that myself and my family have many cherished memories.
Any support would be greatly appreciated!
