Story
As all of you will know, I have a beautiful daughter called Evelyn (Evie), who is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
Evie is mostly non-verbal and autistic, but she is without doubt the happiest, kindest, and most joyful child I’ve ever met. She lights up every room with her smile, and her laughter is utterly infectious.
This August, I’m taking part in the Dorset Plane Pull to raise money for Autism Unlimited, a brilliant charity that supports not only autistic individuals (like myself and Evie), but also their families, schools, and even local businesses. They do incredible work helping to build understanding, create inclusive environments, and offer real, practical support to those who need it most.
The money raised will go towards some brilliant projects at Portfield School, where amazing children like Evie get the support they need to thrive.
It will fund things like an in-ground trampoline, which supports the children’s health, wellbeing, and sensory regulation and gives them a fun way to let off steam. It might also go towards upgrading the therapy pool changing rooms, which are used daily by students and local swimming groups. Or it could help provide Early Years Autism Workshops for parents, giving them vital tools and support during those first few years after diagnosis.
Whatever the project, your donation will make a real difference to children and families like mine.
Thank you so much for your support
