Story
Me, 2 years ago when I made the decision to shave my head 4 weeks into Chemo. In January 2022 I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. Since then I have had my prostate removed, undergone 6 rounds of chemotherapy, 33 doses of radiotherapy and am on hormone injections until this August when, MAYBE, we find out if I’m cured or whether I’ll be living with PC in my lymph nodes for the remainder of my life. In a cycling group of 15 men, I’m not the worst off. Think about that, our group reflects the 1 in 8 ratio publicised by PCUK.

I now have the longest hair I’ve ever had!! This bloody disease does not and will not define me. That is why I will be joining my mates from the Malvern Hillbillies on a Coast to Coast ride from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay in May this year. The route is about 185 miles and we’ll be mostly off road. Average age of 60 or so and of the 10 riders only one (me) will be on an e-bike. It’s not my idea, but their’s - they want to do something to help change outcomes and improve diagnosis.
This will be my one big charity effort and I ask you please, take 5 minutes and donate any amount. EVERY PENNY COUNTS. Oh, and don’t forget Gift Aid!!
