Story

We’re Taking on the Represent 247 Mission: Rivington – For Sandside Lodge School

On 24th July 2025, our team – Adam Kelly, Zoe Kelly, Chris Warren, Dominic Conner, and myself – will be representing Team Millom RLFC in the inaugural Represent 247 Mission: Rivington. This is no ordinary challenge. It’s a 12-hour endurance event from 7am-7pm, designed to push physical limits, test mental resilience, and demand total team cohesion.

We’ll be competing against 19 other teams, taking on this brutal format. Every hour, on the hour, at least two team members must complete a 5.1km trail loop. In the time remaining before the next hour strikes, we’ll switch to the SkiErg, working as a team to accumulate as much distance as possible. Then we go again. For 12 relentless hours.

We’re not just doing this for the challenge—we’re doing it for something much bigger.

Why We’re Fundraising

We’re raising vital funds for Sandside Lodge School in Ulverston—a special school supporting students aged 4–19 with a wide range of complex needs including severe learning difficulties, autism, physical and sensory impairments, and communication differences.

Adam and Zoe’s son, Isaak, is a proud student at Sandside. He is profoundly autistic and has complex needs. Adam and Zoe are amazing parents who do so much for Isaak and our local gym community—running classes, organising events, and supporting others.

As Team Millom RLFC, we want to give something back to them—by supporting Isaak and raising funds for the incredible work taking place at Sandside Lodge School.

The Lodge Café Project

Sandside Lodge is embarking on an ambitious project to transform an unused building on the school grounds into a not-for-profit community café run by the students. The goal is to raise £350,000 to bring this vision to life.

The Lodge Café will provide students with meaningful opportunities to:

• Learn communication, budgeting, and food preparation skills

• Build confidence and self-esteem

• Gain real-world experience in a supportive setting

• Prepare for life beyond school, including employment

This project isn’t just about a café—it’s about belonging, inclusion, independence, and future possibilities.

How You Can Help

We’re asking for your support—whether it’s a donation, a share of our page, or simply spreading the word.

Every pound brings Sandside Lodge one step closer to making the Lodge Café a reality. Every contribution helps give these amazing students the chance to develop real-life skills and thrive in their community.

Thank you for reading and supporting a cause that will really make a difference.

Let’s do this – for Isaak, for Sandside, and for every student who deserves a chance to shine.
