Story
I'm running the Robin Hood Half Marathon!
Not long to go. My preparation has included lot's of practice miles and swallowed flies down Leicester canal, but it's the home town advantage I'm hoping will get me over the line.
And it's a home town charity that I am raising money for. White Rose has been part of the Nottingham high street since 2009, raising funds for the Aegis Trust so they can continue their work to prevent genocide and provide peace education. This includes running the Kigali Genocide Memorial as well as their peace education program, which has been part of Rwanda's national curriculum since 2016. You can find out more about their work at https://www.aegistrust.org.
It's a charity I am proud to work for every week and proud to raise funds for at this event. All donations are gratefully received.
A bit about White Rose.
Our mission is to support people, peace and planet.
We sell handpicked, preloved fashion and accessories in our charity shops in the UK. We help keep fashion circular, extending the life of clothing through reselling, reducing the impact that fashion has on our planet. The funds generated from the sales go to the Aegis Trust.
Aegis run peace, humanity and reconciliation programmes with people in communities around the world affected by prejudice and discrimination, which has too often led to hate violence, mass conflict and genocide.
