Story
Update:
Due to weather conditions, the skydive has been postponed from the 30th July 2023 and will now be taking place on the 2nd September 2023!
About Us
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are Nathan Cook and Verity Hansen and we have decided to participate in a Skydive in aid of Children's Hospice South West! We have always talked about how doing a skydive is one of the top things to do on our bucket list and loved how we could tick it off the list whilst also being able to raise money for such a special charity which is also local to us.
The Challenge
We will be taking part in a 15,000 feet skydive which will see us falling tandem at speeds of up to 120mph! The event will take place on Sunday 30th July at Dunkeswell Airfield. We know it is going to be a very nerve wracking day but knowing we will have raised money for the Children's Hospice is going to (hopefully) make the jump a whole lot easier!
The Charity
Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) exists to make the most of short and precious lives and puts children and families at the centre of all it does. CHSW is the only children's hospice in the South West and is currently providing care for over 550 families across their three sites (Barnstaple, Bristol and St Austell). Families use CHSW for planned respite, but also turn to them for emergency care, and when the time comes, end of life care. Their services are free because they believe that nothing should come between sick children receiving the very best care. With little government funding they rely on the generosity of donations to deliver their promise. We have decided to take on this challenge so that they can continue to do the amazing work they have been doing for over 30 years now.
We really appreciate you taking the time to look over our page. If you are able to donate anything to this cause it would really make an impact to Children's Hospice South West.
Thanks,
Nathan and Verity
