Story
Some of you will know that I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2024, just after my dear friend Charlotte’s beautiful daughter Esme lost her battle against a rare cancer called CIC-DUX4 sarcoma.
Esme was 12 when she was diagnosed and went through her treatment with strength, bravery and grace.
The reality is that from the outset my prognosis has been excellent. This is because of the amazing research funded by ever generous charities and people.
Heartbreakingly from the outset Esme’s prognosis was unfavourable.
My heart breaks every time I think of Esme, her parents, brother and family left behind.
We need to help stop this happening to another family.
The Esme Orike Foundation has been set up with a goal of funding a researcher for 3 years to find better treatments for CIC-DUX4 and give hope to those diagnosed.
Please help me support the foundation by sponsoring my head shave.
