Story
This April, I’ll be running a marathon for Refuge, a charity that supports women and their children who are victims of domestic violence.
In the UK, 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime, and on average, one woman is killed every five days by an abusive partner or ex. Behind these statistics are real people.
Domestic abuse is often surrounded by stigma and silence, which can make victims feel stuck, isolated, and unable to speak up or seek help. Charities like Refuge are so vital because they provide safety, support, and hope.
Running a marathon is one of the hardest challenges I’ve ever taken on. In a small way, I hope it reflects something bigger. Even when something feels overwhelming or frightening, it can be faced one step at a time with the right support.
Thank you so much for your support through donating or sharing this page.
