Story

The Mission: Newton Aycliffe Grads vs. The Goal!

We are the Lidl Graduate Team at the Newton Aycliffe RDC on a mission to raise £2,500 for the NSPCC. We’ve had an incredible start, but the finish line is still ahead of us. Here is where we stand:

✅ Challenge 1: The Yorkshire 3 Peaks (COMPLETED!)

We kicked things off with a bang. On February 1st, the team took on Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough.

The Result: We didn’t just beat the 12-hour target—we smashed it in 9 hours! * It was 24+ miles of gruelling climbs and sore legs, but your support kept us moving. Check out our updates for the photos from the summits!

🚀 Up Next: The RDC Takeover (COMPLETED)

On Tuesday 17th February, we are bringing the fundraising to the Newton Aycliffe RDC:

The Big Bake Sale: Homemade treats for the whole team.

Come say hello, grab a snack, and help us edge closer to that £2,500 mark.

🏃‍♂️ The Extra Mile: Middlesbrough Half Marathon

The physical tests aren't over yet. Nathan is stepping up to represent the team by taking on the Middlesbrough Half Marathon. He’ll be pushing for a PB to help raise those vital funds—keep an eye out for his training updates!

🪒 The Grand Finale: George Carter’s Haircut!

We’ve saved the biggest incentive for last. George Carter has officially put his hair on the line. If we hit our £2,500 target, George is shaving his head! Help us reach the goal to see George lose the locks, all in the name of the NSPCC.

Why Your Support Matters

Every penny we raise goes directly to Lidl’s national partner, the NSPCC, supporting services like Childline:

£4 pays for a counsellor to answer a call from a child in distress.

£20 helps answer 5 calls, potentially saving a life.

£100 helps practitioners deliver 'Speak out. Stay safe.' sessions in schools.

Please hit the 'Give now' button to support the Newton Aycliffe team. No donation is too small, and every penny stays with the NSPCC to protect children.
