Story
I’m running the London Marathon — my first ever marathon — to raise money for Rainbows Children’s Hospice.
Rainbows is an incredibly special place that provides care, comfort and support to children and families when they need it most. It’s a charity that means a great deal to me personally, having seen first-hand the difference they make during some of life’s hardest moments.
As a dentist, I normally spend my days telling people to open wide while I sit comfortably on a chair — so deciding to run 26.2 miles felt like a slightly questionable life choice. Training has already involved early mornings, aching legs and a new level of respect for anyone who voluntarily runs for fun.
But every mile has purpose. Knowing I’m running for such an amazing charity keeps me going when motivation disappears somewhere around mile 18 (or during training… usually mile 3).
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean a huge amount and will help Rainbows continue the incredible work they do supporting children and their families.
Thank you so much for your support.
