Story
As many of you know, my beautiful granddaughter Sophia was born with complex congenital heart disease. To date, Sophia has had three open heart surgeries - something she couldn't have survived without. Sophia's first month of life was spent in Leicester hospital together with her parents Laura and Josh. She will need more surgery in the future, but for now has shown that she is a true heart warrior and is doing really well.
We have all been so grateful for the amazing support of the brilliant charity Heartlink during the time they have spent in hospital. Because of the amazing work Heartlink do, Laura and Josh were able to stay close by Sophia during her time in hospital, rather than making the long journey to and from Leicester each day. As new parents, this was something that meant so much to them. Heartlink also support the children's cardiac ward, by helping to fund vital equipment as well as things to help children and their families feel comfortable when they are there.
How You Can Help
To give back to Heartlink and help them support other families, I will be running the Manchester Marathon on April 27th, 2025. Your generous contributions will enable Heartlink to continue offering vital support to families facing the unimaginable challenges of congenital heart defects.
