Story
Hi everyone!
Neal is running a half-marathon again for Footprints, but more importantly George will be taking part in the Mini-Marathon accompanied by some of his family to raise money too. Please give generously to this wonderful charity.
Footprints are a local Nottinghamshire charity who help children, and their families, who live with mobility and communication issues.
When our son, George, was two, he was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia, a type of cerebral palsy, which means he is as yet unable to stand or walk independently. Since his diagnosis we have received support from the NHS, but the physio is limited to once every 3 weeks (approximately). Our physio at the time suggested we get in touch with Footprints, and we’ll be forever grateful that we did. For two years until George started school Footprints provided George with a weekly, two hour session, that I’d best describe as small group physical therapy. Under their provision his movement improved dramatically, and it was such a joy to see him move more independently as a result. A year on George is still reaping the benefits of the help Footprints gave him as he makes massive strides (literally) in learning to walk and stand.
As well as the physical support, Footprints provided us with a network of other families with extraordinary children, and that community is similarly invaluable.
Please give generously, if you can.
Thank you!
